Personal Message

I was borned in Battambang province in 1971. My mother was the Cambodian Literature Professor in the high school , She is now just retired.
My father is the singaporean citizen who just passed away last year. I started my hotel career in year 1990 as the Bell boy at Samaki Hotel ( Now become Raffles Hotel Le Royal in Phnom Penh city ). Three years later I was promoted to be the receptionist where I can meet many customers.

In 1995 I joined the new Hotel called Hotel Cambodiana ( First 4 star hotel in Cambodia ) in Phnom Penh as the Outlet Cashier then i was promoted to be Front Office Team Leader in 1994. I quited hotel business a while and I joined into travel agent business industry one famous agency called Diethelm Travel in Phnom Penh.

In 1996 Raffles Hotel and Resorts International Company bought two grand historic hotel in Cambodia where I have chance for the walk in interview at The Raffles House located jut next door to the Soriya Super Market. I was selected as Cambodian Team Leader Trainee to Singapore. I was working at Raffles Hotel in Singapore for 6 months . Singapore is the nice and expensive country. I returned back to Siemreap Cambodia in 1997 to manage Raffles Grand Hotel Dangkor as the pre opening team. I was assigned as the Human Resource Officer.

In 1998 I was transferred to Raffles Hotel Le Royal as the Reservations Manager where I worked there till 2002 then I was sent to Singapore again for other 6 month training program. I was enjoyed my last training in Singapore so much. I always remember my training days with my best trainer ( Ms Doreen Lim email : ddoelim@yahoo.com ) at Raffles Global Marketing Distribution Department , She was so helpful and very kind lady . In late 2003 I am leaving Raffles Hotel Le royal on my own accord as I have to continue my study in United States. I was living in Houston Texas till 2005. I used to manage the pre opening of Casa Angkor Hotel as the General Manager.

Mike & Susan Charity Foundation
is the non-profit charity foundation in Cambodia was founded recently by Angkor Asia Association to promote and assist the local communities in the countryside of Siemreap and Other provinces.

The long civil war in Cambodia , Lasting twenty years and involving the genocide regime of the Khmer Rouge from 1975-1979, Left the country in a dire condition. Today the Cambodian Government is working hard to redress the balance of these last terrible years and to introduce education to all the rural villages, This is proving difficult as many parents, mostly farmers are poor with 7-8 children to support. Bying stationerary and pens for their children's educational needs is just beyond their means.

The reason why we create this foundation is to set up our spirit of love and caring to help Cambodian children receive an education. We consider this to be part of our obligation to society. Consequently, some of our profit from the Angkor Asia Association are being channeled into this good cause.

Our vision to create this charity foundation:
- To provide support for the children of drastically poor families by providing facilites such as : Writing materials such as Pens, Pencil, Reading books, School bags etc..
- To construct and build drinking clean water wells for poor families in the rural countryside

Generally, It cost less than USD100 per year, per child to provide school stationary, Clothes, School bags etc .. We guarantee that 100% of your donation will help fun these poor children in the rural villages.
